FLASHPOINT Titles Revealed

If last week’s teasers covering four of their biggest franchises wasn’t clue enough, DC Comics made it clear today that their incoming “Flashpoint” event is going to be big. At least 15 tie-in mini series big, and that’s just for starters.

The publisher revealed today on their The Source blog that the Geoff Johns/Andy Kubert five-issue event – ostensibly spinning out of Johns’ run on “The Flash” – will be supported by 15 mini series, 14 of which saw their titles unveiled in the following order:

Whatever Happened to Gotham City?

FLASHPOINT: BATMAN KNIGHT OF VENGEANCE #1-#3

FLASHPOINT: DEADMAN AND THE FLYING GRAYSONS #1-#3

Whatever Happened to the World’s Greatest Super Villains?

FLASHPOINT: CITIZEN COLD #1-#3

FLASHPOINT: DEATHSTROKE & THE CURSE OF THE RAVAGER #1-#3

FLASHPOINT: THE OUTSIDER #1-#3

Whatever Happened to the Aliens?

FLASHPOINT: ABIN SUR THE GREEN LANTERN #1-#3

FLASHPOINT: PROJECT: SUPERMAN #1-#3

Whatever Happened to Science & Magic?

FLASHPOINT: FRANKENSTEIN & THE CREATURES OF THE UNKNOWN #1-#3

FLASHPOINT: SECRET SEVEN #1-#3

Whatever Happened to Europe?

FLASHPOINT: EMPEROR AQUAMAN #1-#3

FLASHPOINT: WONDER WOMAN AND THE FURIES #1-#3

FLASHPOINT: LOIS LANE AND THE RESISTANCE #1-#3

Everything You Know Will Change in a Flash

FLASHPOINT: KID FLASH LOST #1-#3

  1. Flash is probably the last haven I have to make amends with DC’s current direction on its titles. Don’t really have much hope for some of these series. The Deathstroke/Ravager series sounds like a trainwreck waiting to happen. And I assume this Ravager is the original and not Rose Wilson.

They’ll try and clean up the Superman/Wonder Woman mess JMS has left behind as well. Wonder Woman I think will use her Wonder Canary inspired costume in the NBC TV series which will be cancelled in less than 2 months because NBC’s viewers only like offbeat 60’s era humor of Jay Leno and the atrocity that SNL has become.

DC has alo alienated me from buying Birds of Prey by teasing Oracle’s death and Gail Simone continues to run out of ideas on the title. Stick with Secret Six, but you can’t even keep sales on the book to justify its continued existence.

Then there’s the 90’s Marvel editor Bob Harras who ruined Marvel during the decade and probably stands to ruin DC in the upcoming one. Its already begun this week rumors of 90’s X-Men writer Scott Loeb are floating around that he’ll show up on a monthly DC title very soon. My guess is a Batman title like Batman and Robin or Batgirl.
