Alex Ross Remixes Action Comics #1 Cover!

Star Artist Alex Ross, who did theKingdom Come series, which is one of my ALL time Favorites, did a Variant Cover as a part of the new Super Man Defies God:  Action Comics #900 Campaign.  I personally am not a fan of the title, but the Story is interesting nonetheless.  Any bill that Writer Geoff Johns is on is going to be worth the read, if for no other reason than Good writing.  The Variant is a Variant of Action Comics #1 (Below).  The $6, 96 page comic hits stores Wednesday.

Olivier Rousteing Marks the New Era for Balmain

NEW YORK TIMES:

The new era at Paris’s sex-charged fashion house Balmain is beginning to take shape, with 25-year-old Olivier Rousteing being tapped as the label’s new designer. Rousteing, who joined Balmain in 2009 and is currently in charge of women’s wear, replaces Christophe Decarnin, who left earlier this month due to strategic disputes with chairman Alain Hivelin. Before joining Balmain, Rousteing worked for five years at Roberto Cavalli, which should serve him well in delivering the decadent rock-inflected glamour that became the label’s trademark under Decarnin.“-(New York Times) See pics of previous Balmain designer Christophe Decarnin below.

Grant Morrison’s SUPERGODS cover!

Star Comic storyteller Gran Morrison, will be releasing a book in July that Chronicles the History of Superheroes, what they meant, mean to him, how they mirror our existence and how they aren’t going anywhere.  This is definitely a book for ALL Comic fans and anyone Creative!  Here’s the official Press Release:

From one of the most acclaimed and oracular writers in the world of comics comes a thrilling and provocative exploration of humankind’s great modern myth: the superhero.

For Grant Morrison, possibly the greatest of contemporary superhero storytellers, these heroes are not simply characters but powerful archetypes whose ongoing, decades-spanning story arcs reflect and predict the course of human existence: Through them, we tell the story of ourselves. In this exhilarating book, Morrison draws on history, art, mythology, and his own astonishing journeys through this alternate universe to provide the first true chronicle of the superhero-why they matter, why they will always be with us, and what they tell us about who we are.
