SO RUDDY | East Coast Defender Unveils New “Project XIII” Land Rover

East Coast Defender is the award-winning builder of premium Land Rover Defenders, and the Florida-based outfit’s latest creation is a $225,000 custom Corris Grey Defender 110, dubbed Project XIII as a nod to the new owner’s birth date. Combining British refinement with American power, the vehicle packs a 6.2-liter V-8 from a Corvette Stingray, rated at 430 hp and good for a 0-60 mph sprint time of seven seconds. The engine is connected to a GM 6L60 6-speed transmission, which ditches the transmission’s standard shift lever with a console-mounted Powertrain Control Solutions push-button system, complete with illuminated LCD gear-selection display. On the exterior front, upgrades include a full external rollcage and a Massi rear ladder, along with a custom Zunsport grille and KBX fender wings and grille/headlamp surrounds. There’s also upgraded modern LED lighting all around, and black 18-inch Boost Alloys wheels, wrapped in 32.5-inch-tall BFGoodrich Radial All-Terrain KO2 tires.
