So this isn’t as much of a Style Tip as it is an “I’M BACK” tip. If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, which I’m sure you haven’t, I had a pretty bad biking incident during the “Tour De Nash” a couple of weeks ago that messed up my leg pretty bad. I’m just getting back on my feet so I definitely been in the mood to do any posing, let alone put pants on. LoL So I didn’t, but this is just a quick heads up from me to you. Thank you for continuing to grow with me 🙂 “LIVE ABOVE IT!”
WARNING: The following may cause vomiting, nausea, headaches, and general disdain for the current state of Men’s Fashion/Style.
THIS! THIS IS WHY THE JPSKILLZ STYLE TIP EXISTS!!! …. Jesus.
Here’s some medicine. Take 2 of these and call me in the morning.
Fellas…let’s get back to being MEN. #JPSKILLZStyleTip
Fall is upon us as evidenced by days like today. With it comes Hoodie Season, but generally you don’t think of mixing hoodies with shorts. Well, why not?
Always start from the bottom. It’s the first thing she sees. Rollin with the Chucks today. $20
Rockin my City Shorts from Banana Republic. It’s 57 degrees right now, but it will be 80 by noon. This is why shorts MAKE SENSE. You don’t want to do it just to do it or you’ll look crazy. Remember it’s all about FUNCTION. Check that forecast, before making your daily wardrobe decisions fellas. $12
One of the main reasons fashionable people love Fall is because of LAYERING – Placing one or more garments on top of another. We don’t think to do this with shorts, but as you can see, if done right, you won’t look crazy. This Mossimo hoodie from Target isn’t a heavy one, which makes it great for matching with shorts and layering because of how thin it is, yet it’s heavy enough to keep you warm. Despite popular belief, the closer garments fit to your body the warmer you’ll be, because of less air circulation. Coupled with the Mossimo V-Neck, you’ve got a nice, warm, lightweight combination. V $12 H $20
So TAILOR it up and LAYER it up fellas. Shalom. #JPSKILLZStyleTip
Many say, “Sunday Funday,” but I say, “Monday Funday!” It’s a mindset people! If you can’t, tell the weather is starting to transition slowly. So as we experience cooler mornings & nights we have to find a nice balance. That’s what this fit is about…”BALANCE.”
I see you lovin’ the shoes, you lovin’ the shoes, you lovin’ the shoooooes! *Weekend Voice* LoL Vintage Cole Haan! The shoes that started it all for me. The Air Estadio Strap! This is the white/tan colorway! Perfect to put a little…SPRING…in your Fall step. $250
“We built this city! We built this city on Rooock!” LOL Sorry, the music references are just rolling today. Got my Divided, H&M, City Shorts on again. So perfect for, well…everything. The khaki also plays well with the blue of course. $10
Now for a new item! I was in need of a light blue Oxford (as all men should be), but I didn’t want to go with the traditional, accountant style, flat Oxford that you see on older business men, because…well, that’s just not my Style. remember the objective here is develop your own Personal Style. So I found this Slim Fit, Oxford at the Labor Day, Banana Republic sale! It has a nice texture to it. I went with a Small. Now, traditionally I wear a medium, but that’s more because of my neck size than anything else, so to achieve the tailored look that I’m rocking now I went a size down. It’s snug when the top button is closed, but I RARELY (If ever) button my top button. Even if I’m wearing a tie. I have just always hated that noose feeling around my neck…no puns intended. So I say that to say, if you are one of those people who button up to the top then you may want to stick to your actual size. Keep in mind that this outfit and time of the year is about Balance. So a nice Oxford is perfect to stay warm & cool! $30
I also hate for my collars to hover. So I have my collared shirts altered. Shhhhhh, ancient Chinese secret. $6
Okay people! Enough standing around! Let’s get to work! #JPSKILLZStyleTip
All black everything…well, almost. LoL It’s going to be hot and it may rain, so I want too be ready for anything. Just not feeling to colorful today so, yeah. But I said “TOO.”
Rockin my Poolside, Lunargrand Wingtips by Cole Haan today. Perfect for adding that SPLASH (See what I did there?) of color needed to stop my Fit from being too Goth! The shoes are the Focal Point. $250
The shorts are by Divided from H&M. They’re another steal from Labor Day! They’re City Shorts and they only cost me $10!
The T’ is a V-Neck by Mossimo from Target. $12
And let us not forget the “EXCESSories” to this crime, the hat and shades. I don’t like umbrellas, never have, they take up too much space. I prefer a hat. This is a Conductor hat that I also copped on Labor Day from H&M for only $10!
Alright peeps, have fun today…
See? All black everything…well…almost 😉 #JPSKILLZStyleTip
It’s the day after Labor Day and for most of us it’s back to Labor. Nothing says work better than Camaflouge! OK, okay…let’s just get the G.I. Joe jokes out the way before we get started. LoL Okay now, The day after Labor Day also means you should see some nice Style. After all, it is a day of sales. Both garments are just a few of the Steals I found yesterday!
First of all, check out ya’ boy’s foot work! The Camo Lunargrand Wingtips are perfect for this look! No need to elaborate. If you don’t know how I feel about these by now then… $250
Then we have to respect this city. And I’ll do that with these City Shorts from Banana Republic! Great for casual or business. Throw on a Button Up and you’re ready to close the deal. Throw on a T-shirt and you’re ready for a relaxing getaway. It’s all about “VERSATILITY!” Remember, baggy is out. Let your shorts stop above the knee. And you want them tailored not Daisy. To give you an idea, I generally wear a 32 inch waist, but these are a 30. $10!
Also got this gem from BR! I don’t own any short sleeve collar shirts, but this one has opened my eyes! LoL Trust me I’ll be copping some more. The key to wearing camouflage is not to over do it. When you have a piece this strong you have to let it speak for itself. Don’t mess it up by trying to over match it. Notice how I chose the dominant brown instead of green for the shirt. It lessons the impact and makes it Stylish instead of Childish. It’s an art form so be patient 😉 $12!
Alright, sorry for the late post, but got busy and couldn’t help it. So now you know, “AND KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE!” #JPSKILLZStyleTip
