The JPSKILLZ Style Tip of the Day!

Being an adult SUCKS!  It mainly means postponing the things that you really want to do in order to have the means to do them, but I digress!  LoL Because of budget necessities I had to postpone my purchase of these amazing jeans, but nevertheless I have them now and they were well worth the wait!  It’s a rainy day today, here in Nashville and cloudy.  The perfect Blue Collar feel for their debut.  The jeans to which I am rambling about, are my NEW

ALEC QUILTED SUPER SKINNY MOTO JEANS!!!

Okay, so that was a bit dramatic, but I love a sleek pair of Moto jeans and you have to understand that I’ve been looking for a pair of denim Moto jeans forever!  These fit EXTREMELY well, feel great against the skin, and to top it all off: although they are Skinny Jeans, they are designed so that there is room around the knees for flexiblity unlike most Moto Skinny Jeans.  I mean these bad boys feel like a pair of Joggers!  I LIKE IT!  I paired these industrial jeans with my Lunargrand Weatherproof Boots, my favorite Vintage Button-Up, a light Cardigan for warmth, and my rain jacket to ward off the rain drops.  You’ll be seeing a lot more of these hardworking trousers.  Let’s work!  “LIVE ABOVE IT!

Wednesday has arrived and by now you’re either making moves or making excuses.  For me it’s the former and I love semi-warm days like this to make them!  Only in Nashville baby!  So I don’t need much to keep me warm.  I’m rockin’ my Sequoia Suede, Cole Haan Zerogrand Chukkas ($278), my Black, En Noir Moto Skinny Jeans from The GAP ($40 SALE), my Black, American Apparel Henley ($30), my favorite Vintage Button-Up ($FREE.99), My Dark Gray, Mossimo Blazer from Target ($70), and my Green, Merona Vest ($30)!  “LIVE ABOVE IT!”

#JPSKILLZStyleTip: Special Bandaloop edition!

image

Well it’s Monday people, but not just any Monday, Bandaloop is going to be performing downtown, but wait, there’s more! They’ll be performing…wait for it…on the SIDE of the UBS building about 20 stories up! Yeah, just another Super OZ production! So of course I’m heading down there, me and JC’ (bike) that is! So, I’m going to need something functional. Because I need to be swift to beat the rain and just warm enough to hold off the strong winds. This sounds like a job for…JOGGERS! That’s right, I’ve been sitting on these bad boys since Labor Day, but it’s time to break em’ out!

Now let’s discuss these super Joggers!

image

The common mistake that many men make when deciding to rock joggers is they buy cheap. You don’t want a pair off of Karmaloop or something like that, you want to go the high end route like, Express or Banana Republic, like me and I know what you’re thinking, BR isn’t really “High End,” but in comparison okay. LoL generally you’re going to get a better fit and quality of materials & make. So it’s worth the extra cash. Now that Joggers are popular, more quality retailers are getting on board so they shouldn’t be too hard to find.

I’m a fan of the zipped pockets! I think it gives them a more formal look than regular sweats which is exactly what I wanted, because I don’t want to be too laid back, I want a nice balance. I am labeling my Fall/Winter Style, “Rock-Hop Tailored!” The Lower End Joggers generally don’t have pockets. So there’s that. The more expensive Joggers don’t break funny either, they maintain a nice silhouette. Which is what you want. And finally the extra long tassels, I’ve been designing pants like that for years, I’ll show you the sketches! I’ve always been ahead of my time, but just another reason these are perfect. Didn’t think this much went into a pair of Joggers did you? Oh and how could I forget the best part!? They’re SUPER Comfortable! LoL $40 (on sale)

I found the top, as far as balancing the Joggers with your everyday attire, to be a bit tricky. The Wrong top can make you seem lid you got dressed in the dark,  which is another reason why you don’t want to rock cheap materials. My favorite vintage button up is perfect for today along with my Merona rain jacket. It’s going to be fun creating this Style! Shirt $Free.99 Jacket $40
